The standard we hold ourselves to.
When we talk about building a company with intention, this is what we mean. Not a list of aspirations. A set of commitments we hold ourselves to every day.

Every product we make starts with a sustaianably certified material.
Less than 1% of the world's cotton is certified organic and 100% of our cotton meets that standard. Our bedding is made from GOTS-certified organic cotton or TENCEL™— a closed-loop lyocell fiber made from sustainably sourced wood pulp. Our towels are made from OCS 100-certified organic Aegean cotton, one of the rarest long-staple cottons in the world. These aren't aspirational claims. They are third-party verified standards that cover every step of production, from the field to the fabric, with no harmful chemicals, no synthetic pesticides, and independent annual audits.

We give 1% of revenue — not profit — to environmental nonprofits.
1% for the Planet was founded on a simple principle: because companies profit from the natural world, they should protect it. As members, we commit 1% of annual revenue — not a percentage of profit — to vetted environmental nonprofits working on land, water, and climate. We chose revenue because it means the commitment holds regardless of margin. It is the same commitment that Patagonia has made since 1985, and the same standard we hold ourselves to.

When women lead, things are made better — for people, for the planet, for the home.
Verlee was founded by two women who believe that when women lead, things are made better. For the people inside the company, for the partners we choose, for the customers we serve. Being WBENC-certified women-owned reflects something we were already committed to before we started. We invest in women-owned suppliers where we can, we support women in the textile industry, and we hope the example we're setting makes it a little easier for whoever comes next.

Our commitment doesn't stop at the product.
GOTS certification doesn't stop at the material. Every factory we work with is independently certified to the same standard — which means rigorous environmental controls, no toxic chemicals in production, safe working conditions, fair wages, no child or forced labor, and annual third-party audits. The standard that covers your sheets covers the people who made them.

Packaging that doesn't outlive the product.
Every Verlee order ships in FSC-certified, 100% recycled packaging through EcoEnclose. No plastic mailers. No virgin materials. The packaging is made from post-consumer recycled content, designed to use as little material as possible, and fully curbside recyclable when it arrives. We think about longevity the same way with the product itself. A sheet set you keep for ten years is one that never ends up in a landfill. That's not a side benefit. It's part of what we're building toward.
