Sustainability begins with fabrics. We prioritize certified organic fabrics, those which represent a minority of global fabric production because of their high standards for sustainability. Our organic cotton is OCS and GOTS certified, grown with no herbicides, and cultivated in healthier soil, using significantly less water than nearly all cotton worldwide. Our TENCEL branded lyocell is crafted from Eucalyptus, using significantly less water than bamboo fabrics. The fabric is made to biodegrade naturally, making it among the top 2% most sustainable distributed fabrics worldwide. OEKO TEX Standard 100 certification provides additional third party assurance that all of our fabrics are tested and free from harmful substances.
Our production methods have been carefully honed to care for the planet. Our mills are vertically integrated to ensure minimal waste and reprocessing which may cause downstream harm. Vertical integration also ensures that there are fewer environmentally costly handoffs across the supply chain. Less transport makes for a smaller environmental footprint.
Longevity is a core part of our environmental responsibility. Our products are designed to last — and to improve — through years of regular use and washing. We select long staple fibers, stable yarn constructions, and finishing methods that preserve fabric integrity over time rather than delivering short-lived softness. Fewer replacements mean fewer resources consumed, less waste generated, and a smaller long-term footprint. Sustainability, for us, is not about constant novelty, but about making things well enough that they do not need to be replaced often.
